The Faces We Pass By Every Day

This is a body of work intending to depict the strength, dignity, grace, humanity, and beauty of the people of Vancouver who are passed by every day: homeless and low-income residents and community members of the Downtown Eastside. Through this collection of oil portraits, I hope to remind everyone that we all belong to one greater, global community. Through the sales of my paintings, I will be donating part of the proceeds to organizations that are helping manage addiction, mental health, homelessness, or social housing, in this case, Megaphone Magazine. Megaphone is a social enterprise offering low-barrier employment for people experiencing poverty and homelessness in Vancouver and Victoria. I am also donating part of the proceeds to each of the subjects who are the heart and soul of this project.
